Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I register a team?
The team captain registers the team when they register to participate. There are 2 options to register:
Online - Go to our Registration Page or Register Now.
Paper
- Print off the paper registration and mail (312 S Barstow Street, Suite S1; Eau Claire, WI 54701) or fax to 715-835-2636.

2. How do my team members register?
There are 3 different ways to register team members for Bowl for Kids' Sake. (The team captain registers as explained in question 1.)
Register Online-Go to the Registration Page or Register Now.
Paper Registration-
Print off a paper registration form and mail or fax it in.
Simple Registration-
The team captain can fill out a Simple Registration (Chippewa Valley or St Croix Valley) form and mail (312 S Barstow Street, Suite S1; Eau Claire, WI 54701) or fax to 715-835-2636.

3. What is the registration fee?
The registration fee is $25. This is used to officially secure the bowling lane. If your $25 team fee is not received and there is a waiting list for your shift, your lane may be released. The $25 team registration fee counts towards the team captains pledges (it counts towards your $100 minimum).

4. How do I pay the registration fee?
2 options:
Send in a check - Mail to 312 S Barstow Street, Suite S1; Eau Claire, WI 54701 (Include a note that indicates this is for a team registration fee.)
Pay online - Set up your online webpage and make an online donation to yourself in the amount of $25.

5. Do I need to have exactly 5 people? Can I have 4 or 6 people on a team?
The optimal team size is 5. You can participate with a team of 4 or 6 people, however with 4 people you may finish bowling early (and it takes more effort to raise the $1,000 for the team prize) or with 6 people you may not be able to finish both games of bowling.

6. What is the direct website the online DonorPages fundraising system?
http://bbbsnw.donorpages.com/BFKS2010Pledges/ (2011 link coming in Jan 2011)

7. Can I bowl if I don't raise $100?
Yes, if you don't raise the full $100 we will still allow you to participate. But the $100 is important because we do have some expenses involved in the event (16%) and we want to cover our expenses and still raise money to support the children of our community. $100 is only 10 people donating $10 or 5 people donating $20. If you aren't currently using the online system (DonorPages), we recommend setting up your own online webpage because the simplest way to raise money is to email all of your friends and family and ask them to support you supporting the children of our community.

8. Is a certain shift filled?
If we know a certain shift is filled, it will be noted on the main Bowl for Kids' Sake website and on the online fundraising site. Or contact Christina Thrun 715-835-0161.

9. I forgot my password, now what?
When you go to Login, there is a link called 'Forgot Password'. You can click on this link and have your password reset and emailed to you. You can then log in and change your password.

10. I bowled in 2008, 2009, or 2010 but don't remember my DonorPages user name or password?
When you go to Login, click the 'Forgot Password' link. You have the option of requesting your username and/or password. You will receive an email indicating your username and/or your new password.

11. How do I start collecting pledges online?
Simply register as a bowler in the online fundraising system (DonorPages), edit your webpage (ie change your fundraising goal or picture), and then send the direct url link to your family and friends (located on the top of the main page). When you are logged in, there is a button on the right-hand side of the screen for "Promote Page". Click on this button and you can send a pre-scripted email to friends and family with your unique url.

11. When I try and set up my team page, it isn't allowing my team name.
This is likely because you, or another team member, set up your personal user name to be the same name as your team name. Your username and team name can not be the same because you need unqiue names for the unique url. It is recommended that you add something else to your team name or change it a little (put a number on the end or spell out an abbreviation). Once you create your team page you can edit how your team name is displayed on your team webpage.

12. What is the 2011 Theme?
This year's theme is Sports (A WIN for a child is a WIN for our community) so dig out the sports apparel.
